2008 ASM Children's Camp Daily Activities

Our KiddieCorp New England Adventure will be jam packed with FUN and survival challenges! We’ll start by setting up “camp” and getting to know one another. Throughout the week we’ll make hiking vests and learn about the native animals that live in the mountains in the New England area. We’ll even learn how to identify their tracks. The final test will be an obstacle course to see who our “ultimate survivor” will be! The kids will enjoy arts and crafts projects, sing-a-longs, stories, a talent show, and much more. We’ll make souvenir projects and a scrapbook to help us remember our special adventure with our new friends.

Sunday, June 1

2:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

“Crazy about Campin Out”

Okay campers, lets get ready for some real camp-time fun. Grab a buddy and pitch a tent to prepare our campsite. Well be breaking out the camp chairs, singing silly songs, and telling funny (not too scary) ghost stories by our pretend fire. Then its off to the arts and crafts tables to try our hand at bead kits, lanyard chains, cootie catchers, and friendship bracelets.

Monday, June 2

7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

“Let the Games Begin”

Well begin our New England Adventure with preparing ourselves by getting in shape and making our very own hiking vests using paper sacks, felt and anything else our creative minds can think of. For those active campers, weve planned a game of paddle ball, potato sack relay races, archery practice with our ring toss, and a variety of other camp games. Well also try our building skills by constructing log cabins using Lincoln Logs.

Tuesday, June 3

7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

“Escape to Nature”

Today will be a day to challenge our minds and use our imagination to embark on a journey deep into the evergreen forest. We can grow our own evergreen trees (out of pipe-cleaners) and learn about the native animals and how to identify their tracks. The warning signs will be posted throughout the forest to watch out for bears! KiddieCorp bears that is! Everyone will have the opportunity to make their own bear mask. Well also take our building skills to new heights by creating an evergreen forest out of Zoob connectors.

Wednesday, June 4

7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

“Smore Fun”

Wednesday well learn how to make animal shadows with our flashlights and go on a flashlight trail walk (without ever leaving our rooms!). Lets put our construction skills to the final test by making popsicle stick white water rafts and log cabins. Well finish up with the ultimate adventure challenge, an obstacle course filled with crazy capers and our very own KiddieCorp style Olympic events to see who our ultimate survivor will be!! Before bed, well finish up our camp out with a good old-fashioned talent show. Get all of your friends together to sing a song for a sing down or act out a silly skit for your friends.

Thursday, June 5

7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

“Capturing Memories”

After our adventure skills have been perfected, well make New England souvenirs and a scrapbook to help us remember our special adventure. Our chalk drawings will keep the memories fresh in our minds.
